"David Carlson, 1963"
Oil on Wood
12" x 12"

I remember being in Willard, Ohio (a small farming/industrial town between Sandusky and Columbus) stopping on the steps coming down from the upstairs.  I had heard something that got my attention and walked down to see what it could be.  I sat looking through the balusters watching my family crying at the television.  I remember the deep sadness and silence we all felt while witnessing the shooting of JFK.  I was only 6 years old at the time, but I knew something terrible had happened and nothing could change that.  I think that is what scared me the most.
