"Ada Kalinovsky, 1962"
Oil on Wood
14" x 14", framed

Ada’s life was typical ofmany Czechs: He lived through World War II as a forced laborer in Germany, during the last days of the war he was in Berlin. He returned to liberated Czechoslovakia, which became an oppressive communist country. It was a regime he opposed. During the Cuban Missile Crisis he happened to be in Cuba with a Czech film crew filming a film entitled “Komu tanci Havana?” Translation: “For Whom Havana Dances?” It was another terrifying experience.
